Latoya Elle is a Music Media Personality and Multimedia Creative. She helps to amplify the voices of Canadian artists through storytelling. Whether through video productions, articles or on-camera interviews, she is devoted to helping music companies and festivals engage their online audiences through media.
Since graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University School of Journalism, Latoya has been fiercely pursuing music journalism as a freelance Music Correspondent for Shifter Magazine and Complex Canada. During the peak of the pandemic, she collaborated with LOUD Army, a music technology start-up company, to host an IGTV Live series called Behind the Music. She interviewed over 100 emerging artists and received around 200 views per episode. Latoya built interpersonal relationships with the artists during these interviews, making them feel comfortable while simultaneously providing insightful conversations. This is the charisma she brings to every interview.
The engagement from Behind the Music inspired her to continue live interviews on Shifter Magazine’s platform. Her energetic, socially conscious, and captivating interviews have been seen by thousands of viewers across all platforms.
However, her dedication to showcasing emerging talent doesn’t stop there. Latoya has been partnering with Honey Jam Canada as their Social Media Coordinator for the last three years. While working with them, Latoya has been a part of a plethora of exclusive industry events, gathering entail about the industry from music executives, renowned music artists and other tastemakers such as Vivian Barclay, Doc Mckinney and WondaGurl.
During her spare time, she loves attending live music events, doing anything that involves meeting new people, and travelling. So far this year, Latoya has four out-of-province trips planned.
Purpose-driven, Latoya is passionate about continuing to grow in the media music industry as a Broadcast Music Journalist - partnering with platforms to continue having music industry-related conversations and working on industry-related projects.
